French Toast

French toast is fairly self explanatory. If you have never had it, you are really missing out on something special. Sweet and eggy is a wonderful combination. This particular french toast has a shot of pancake mix in the batter, jsut to make things interesting.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 c pancake mix.
  • 1/4 c maple syrup, lukewarm.
  • 1 c milk.
  • 1 pinch salt.
  • 3 eggs.
  • 1 pinch ground cloves.
  • 1 pinch brown sugar.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar.
  • 9 slices bread.

Directions:

  1. Toss dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Slowly whisk the milk in and create an even mix.
  3. Whisk in the eggs and maple syrup until smooth.
  4. Heat a lightly buttered frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Soak bread slices in mixture.
  6. Cook bread on each side until golden brown or solid and yellow, depending on how eggy you want the toast.
  7. Serve with plenty of maple syrup and powdered sugar.
