Focaccia pizza

These are all of the pictures I could salvage from my focaccia bread pizza experiment. Tragically, most of the pictures were so bad that they embarrass me.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Focaccia bread. (Recipe to come.)
  • Pizza sauce (to taste. Recipe uses one can.)
  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded or sliced
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Pizza toppings, to taste.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp melted butter.
  • .5 tsp garlic powder.

Directions:

  1. Prepare focaccia bread and let rise. do not bake.
  2. Pre-heat oven to 450-475F
  3. Coat large, oven safe casserole dish lightly with olive oil.
  4. Spread dough into casserole dish and punch down.
  5. Spread excess dough up sides of the dish to create a bowl.
  6. Spread pizza sauce, parmesan cheese and toppings on the pizza, leaving a crust around the side if so desired.
  7. Add any additional spices, such as garlic or crushed red peppers
  8. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the pizza. Enough to cover the pizza sauce.
  9. Combine olive oil, garlic powder and butter. Brush liberally onto pizza crust.
  10. Place in oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
